Located near Fort Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Barangay Pitogo is a 5-10 minutes tricycle ride from Guadalupe and Kalayaan Avenue. It is 2km away from the Central Business District of Makati, which is not bad if you are looking for an affordable apartment for rent not far away from the business center area. Although the barangay is far from being a business district, it has its own public elementary and high school institutions.
Before the World War II erupted, Pitogo (palm tree species) was abundant in the area. Therefore, the 16.3 hectare barangay was named after these palm trees. Pitogo used to be a resettlement for the enlisted servicemen of the Philippine Armed Forces during the 1950’s. With that, Pitogo rapidly grew into a densely populated residential area that it is up until today.
