Post Proper North Side is a barangay that completes the 2nd District of Makati City. It is specifically located at the north east section together with West Rembo and Guadalupe Viejo. This barangay is a combination of residential and commercial areas due to having part of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) business district within it’s boundaries.
Occupying 2.376 square kilometers of Makati, Barangay Post Proper North Side used to be one with South Side until after Presidential Decree No. 86 was issued in 1972. Consequently, North Side became a separate barangay from its counterpart today, with BGC occupying a chunk part of North Side.
Location of the Barangay
You know you’re at Post Proper North Side once you get to BGC. With that, you can imagine the barangay’s jurisdiction being limited by South Side to the south, Forbes Park to the west, Pembo to the east and some parts of Cembo, Pitogo and West Rembo to the west. Therefore, renting in Post Proper North side can get you closer to BGC, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Taguig City and some of the prominent international schools in south of Manila.
- Post Proper North Side is where the entrance of Fort Bonifacio War Tunnel is located. It’s a 2km underground tunnel that was used by the American soldiers during World War 2 to transport military and food supplies from one base to another.
- The Barangay Day of the Feast of St. Michael is celebrated every 29th of September.
