If Post proper North Side is popular for it is where the Bonifacio Global City can be found, Post Proper South Side has made a name on its own by hosting historical landmarks. Aside from being the home to a large portion of the American Cemetery, it shares a small amount of Bonifacio Global City with Post Proper North Side and Taguig.
The creation of Post Proper South Side was a result of the Presidential Decree 577 in 1972. During the first few years, the barangay was led by the Post Commander of Fort Bonifacio instead of having an elected barangay captain official. It was only in March 1989 when South side held their very first barangay election, with an elected captain.
