Predominantly residential, Barangay Singkamas is located geographically in the west side of Makati City. Being a suburban area makes it appropriate for the establishment of useful community amenities such as an elementary school, a Catholic church, a playhouse and other business establishments. You can find several affordable apartments for lease in the barangay that you can take advantage of, should you need some place to rent in while working in Makati business district.
As with other smaller Makati barangays, Singkamas also started out as a sitio of a bigger barrio. Tejeros once claimed Singkamas as one of its sitios. But due to the passage of the Republic Act 2370 in 1960, Singkamas became a barrio or barangay of its own. Thus, more and more inhabits have started migrating to the area.
