Spicy Fingers in Makati – my favorite bar and restaurant
The nightlife in Makati or Manila would not be complete without a visit to my favorite bar and restaurant – Spicy Fingers. It seems that the management of Spicy Fingers are always trying to do something different to keep their customers happy and this keeps the bar standing out above the rest. For example, during the daytime, Spicy Fingers offers the longest Happy Hour in Manila (sometimes from 12 noon to 8pm) with selected beers and cocktails at an amazingly attractive low price. And the lunchtime menu also offers a cheap deal offer for those on a tight budget.
Excellent live music from top quality bands
Night Life and Live Music
At night time, the quality live music is provided by the best of very talented Filipino musicians, who perform both current popular songs and older classics. It is staged in a crowded but well designed atmospheric place, with a second floor, for those who want the best views of the action. You should arrive early especially on Fridays and Saturdays because the ground floor is usually full. Book a table if you can as this place gets packed.
Spicy Fingers is located in the middle of a long chain of restaurants on the ground floor of Greenbelt 2. Spicy Fingers has two floors. The inside of the bar is long and narrow. There is air-conditioned seating inside and the option to sit upstairs on the upper floor area for those who want the best views of the band. There is also seating in the outside bar.
Outside bar at Spicy Fingers
The place is popular with couples and groups, locals and expats and everyone is friendly. So this is a good, and late, night for a party atmophere with a group of friends. The price is slightly on the expensive side, but not by too much. The service can sometimes be slightly slow, especially if it is busy. It is not the cheapest bar in the area, but it’s hot; it’s not quiet, but it rocks; and the bands connect well with the guests. The food is delicious and the portions are just right size for the price. I particularly suggest the nachos, chilli gumbas, paella, pork chops and the carbonara which are really nice.
I love to sit, drink some beers, eat some pub grub, and thoroughly enjoy the great bands, and the mixed race, and the mixed age patrons dancing and singing along with the band. This place has a terrific informal vibe, and one would have to be seriously depressed not to have a good time here.
So if you want to have fun, brilliant live bands, eat the most awesome Nachos that are actually Doritos with cheese and salsa, have plenty of drinks, dance and just have a blast without wanting to have small talk… THIS IS the place for you.
